miVIP’s Bladder Sling Procedure

Suffer in Silence no Longer

While stress urinary incontinence may not be a hazard to your health, it can be terribly embarrassing to deal with. Thousands of women every day face the embarrassment of leaking urine when they least expect it, forcing them to deal with social anxiety and fear of the unavoidable.

Now, miVIP can help. Our bladder sling procedure can restore your body to its former shape and ensure that you no longer deal with humiliating accidents. As the most common bladder control problem for women, stress urinary incontinence doesn’t have to last forever.

Strengthening the Body Through Science

During a bladder sling procedure, an incision is made directly above the pubic bone. Once you are under anesthesia, your surgeon places a catheter in the bladder to drain your urine. At this point, the surgeon harvests a strand of rectus fascia from your lower abdomen area.

After the tissue is harvested, the surgeon makes a small incision in the anterior wall of the vagina in order to access the bladder’s neck. The harvested strand of tissue is then used to attach the sling to the abdominal wall, in turn placing pressure on the urethra to help in urine retention. Synthetic or animal tissue may also be used to hold the sling in place.

World Class Care from miVIP

Our surgeons are the best in the world, and you can feel confident you are in great hands when you choose miVIP for your bladder sling procedure. From the support staff to the nurses to the surgeons, each member of our team is regularly trained on innovative techniques that reduce surgical risks and improve the lives of patients.

After Your Bladder Sling Procedure

You can expect a 2-4 week recovery period after your procedure. During this time, your doctor may ask you to avoid strenuous activities and extensive work.

All women are unique, and the amount of pain you deal with depends on the complexity of the procedure and your condition when you come to us for help. You may notice slight cramping in the abdominal area, but each body responds differently to pain and any strong pain or discomfort should be discussed with your surgeon.

Procedure Costs

The amount required of the patient depends on the type of insurance plan you have. Our representatives are available to answer any questions you have and help you determine exactly what is expected of you before your procedure.
